And I just realized that a new love interest might mean a jealous Korra who ends things with Mako and then Bryke will say, “Let there be BORRA.”
Sorry, I know this was partially childish, but I needed to get this off of my chest.
I need this to be true. I NEED IT.
Let’s have a second to look back on these last few months, where we saw our little fledgling Borra ship grow from a barely identifiable blip on the horizon into one of the most popular ships in the Avatar Fandom! Seriously, guys, a round of applause or something is pretty much necessary right now.
Err, I’ll assume that’s happening and go on.
Now, Borra is ship that is near and dear to all our hearts, and I myself have been absolutely bowled over by the sheer amount of talent and complete awesomeness that all you fantastic Borra shippers seem to share. It was the least I could do to make this manifesto, where I tried to analyze all the Borra moments in the entire season. Hope you guys enjoy reading it as much I did making it!!
Beware: Includes a lot of character analysis, Bolin feelings, and gushing about Nagabending.
bless this post.
This is the most accurate and in-depth analysis of the Borra relationship dynamic that I have ever read. Long, but worth every moment spent reading.
I agree with everything. And several of these points were things that I myself noticed while watching. It’s helpful to have it all down, though. I could never put my feelings on Borra to paper like this.
To say that I ship Bolin and Korra is untrue. It’s so much more than “My otp is meant to be!!1!!” The characters compliment and complete each other in a way that is heart-breakingly beautiful and full of possibilities. It’s a shame Bryke seems so intent on ignoring this.
In the seasons to come, we have been promised character development for Bolin. But if that “character development” is simply falling for someone else, I will not be able to finish this series. These issues with Korra NEED to be addressed.
It’s been a long while since I’ve felt so strongly about a pairing. I’m beginning to realize why: it means unending pain.
